Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) is the new successor to Samsung's original Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet that saw unprecedented popularity worldwide due to its innovative features. The 2014 edition of Note 10.1 builds on the specs offered in its predecessor and comes with a full-sized 10.1-inch Super Clear LCD touchscreen. The Full HD-supportive display boasts a very impressive 2560 x 1600 pixels resolution at almost 300ppi pixel density, a huge improvement from the previous Note 10.1 model which had a screen resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels at a paltry 149ppi density. Since more pixels are packed into the display, the new Note 10.1 displays graphics with greater clarity and vivid colors.

The tablet features a magazine styled version of Samsung's popular and easy-to-control TouchWiz User Interface. It offers customized screen menus and allows you to create pins for all kinds of apps and files on the device. It also provides a roomier homescreen which makes multitasking (via Multi Window) operations especially efficient. In terms of physical design, the device comes without the extra bezel side space of its previous model. This has not only made the tablet much sleeker, but also reduced its weight considerably. As a result, the new 7.9mm thin Note 10.1 is much easier to carry around. Its back cover is made of a premium leather-like material with neat stitching around the borders. 

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) runs on Android OS v4.3 (Jelly Bean) and comes with a number of preloaded apps. Some prominent ones are:

Smart S Note - allows creating handwritten notes as well as sketches (using the S Pen) and editing them later. You can also handwrite and convert into digitized text. Similarly, shapes can be drawn and turned into perfect forms. 

Action Memo - creates a handwritten memo on screen and allows you to link several operations to it. Linked operations allow ease of access to common tasks such as call, adding contact, text message and much more.

Scrapbooker - this amazing app allows you to organize bits and pieces of useful information from across the device into a scrapbook. You can cut and clip images, text content, videos etc. from websites and device storage and place them in the scrapbook at a single place for quick reference anytime.

Pen Window - draw a new window within the screen and assign a separate app to it for a unique multitasking experience. 

The Air Command feature is used to access all S Pen apps including the ones mentioned above. All you need to do is hover the S Pen on screen, click the S Pen button and it creates the Air Command menu. The software installed in the device ROM also includes Samsung KNOX privacy and data protection tool. It provides platform-level security and keeps the new Note 10.1 safe from data theft and device hacking. 

The tablet operates on an extremely powerful Octa-core processor, a combination of Quad-core 1.9GHz Cortex A-15 and Quad-core 1.3GHz Cortex A-7. It features 3GB RAM and consists of a microSD memory card slot to expand internal storage. Adreno 330 GPU is built alongside the processor to provide top notch graphics support especially during gaming. An 8MP AF camera is available at the rear with Full HD 1080p capability and a built-in LED flash. There's a 2MP Full HD camera on the front that assists in video calls as well.
